Category Details: Permits for North Sikkim (Lachen, Lachung, Gurudongmar, Yumthang) requires Protected Area Permits (PAP). Arranged by Ashkim Tours. Carry valid Photo ID & passport-size photos.
Altitude Sickness: Gurudongmar Lake (~17,000 ft) is very high. Limit your stay, keep hydrated, and descend promptly if feeling unwell. Avoid alcohol and smoking.
Road Conditions: Roads can be rough and prone to delays due to weather or landslides. Be patient and plan flexibly.
Weather: December–March can be freezing; expect snow at higher altitudes. Carry warm layered clothing, gloves, and wool caps.
Connectivity: Mobile networks are limited. BSNL and Jio offer the best coverage; others may not work in Lachen/Lachung.
